Thanks for sharing this. I installed the ShareBar plugin a couple of weeks ago but it seems to work only when I’m using google chrome I will try the other ones you have recommended here.
This was interesting. It amazes me how much you know about all this techy stuff. Thank you for working on my blog awhile back (and thank you Ana for recommending him).
These look like some great plugins. I do like how Anas moves up and down the page. My question is about blog load time. Right now I am using onlywrie, it seems slow and I have seen complaints about load time of other share buttons. How do you think these compare?
I’m using the “add this” plugin, the onlywire plugin and tweet this plugin, all are doing essential the same. Even though I am familiar with the saying ‘too many cooks spoil the broth’, I don’t know which one to remove. Some users may be familiar with add this, some with onlywire etc, so I want to give them the opportunity to use the social bookmarking tool of their choice.
thanks for sharing your insights. I’m using DiggDigg now at the moment. As I am considering a change to Thesis, chances are I’ll change that in the near future.
Thank you for making the Smart Sharing Plugin available - just what I have been looking for! I was astounded to read of the improved sharing rates on your site since using it Devish.
Ти из россий!? Я етого не знал! Класно! Я жил в Украине в течение двух лет, и я жил в Казахстане до того. Я лучше говорю по украинский чем по русский, но я люблю русский язык.
Anyway (it takes me too long to type in Russian), thanks for the jokes, and I hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
I have learned so much from these blog audits and I do my best to implement your suggestions, especially if I am doing the same things as the blog owners.
Ana, like most I am inundated with emails which take up far too much time. I have been methodically going through and unsubscribing from pretty much all of them to cut out the wasted time and lack of focus.
In spite of my efforts to totally eliminate all emails related to internet marketing, I just can’t hit the unsubscribe button for your emails.
You are outstanding - to say the least. You always provide your readers with valuable information we can use that ultimately helps us to increase traffic and improve our blogs.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart (and the top too)! Your emails and info. are much appreciated.
Wow thanks for the compliment. I’m so glad you find my site informative and that you truly appreciate the tips and ideas I shared. Hope to see more of you.
Wow!! You sure do love to write Lol, I will be the one to say it, because Am that type of guy. Where in the world did You come from? Out of the blue one day and BAM, one of the best bloggers around. Yeah I said it, sue Me!
Whenever I come here, I know I will learn something I didn’t know, that is what separates You from allot of other bloggers.
You definitely know how to make great comment Jonathan. Thanks for the compliment, I truly appreciate it. Just keep coming back because I have more to share.
Ana, Thanks so much for your quality posts. I know I’ve thanked you at least once per week for weeks… but as I’ve said before and will say again, I am truly amazed at your knowledge and willingness to share. If I took only a handful of tips and implemented them I would be so much further ahead.
Thankfully, I’ve finally got a few real personal challenges behind me that were acting as lead weights for the last few months - now I think I’m ready to put the rubber to the road and get things back on track with a fresh perspective. Thanks for being a continual source of inspiration. (I genuinely mean it and I’m not commenting for publicity) I don’t say things I don’t mean. xo Jayne
You asked if i love it or hate it, and if i am alive. Well I liked it, and i am alive. I have had a website for over 13 months, still in the sandbox, with multiple inbound links, over 50,000, with some at pr 8 and 9. It is very well keyword optimized around 5 % density. My competitor for my main keyword has 8,000 inbound links. I have .edu backlinks as well. I have done everything out there, and nothing but long tail keywords. I should be number 1. I don’t know what is going on and was looking around again. I already knew most of what was on here, but still looking for something wrong. Oh,and i have not been banned, not big on black hat,but google seems to try and drive one to that. I know it is not worth it, but i have worked so hard and nothing. Very frustrating.
Wow, you do spend alot of time monetizing your site. But I see all your work has paid off at the end! I do have an e-mail list, but not many of my visitors subscribe I wonder if I’ll have to do a pop-up just like yours!
Excellent article and review Ana. I was reading your recommendations as I opened my pages to see how they applied. You made it clear, easy to follow. Thanks!
And thanks to Mavis for sharing. We all benefited from it.
This is one of my favorite posts you do. I always learn something new. I like how you go deep into the sight, checking all of the behind the scenes mechanics. This gives us the chance to do the same on our sites.
I just read your blog audit of Oliver Tausend’s blog and here’s yet another one! Amazing how you could really find the time to help some of us improve. What you’re doing is great!
You followed me on Twitter, I follwed you back. I checked you out, and I started reading your articles. I was attracted to your honest and open way of communicating. I have been searching for sites that provide a no-nonsense approach to sharing information that is helpful to those of us starting out in the web-based business arena. But I really got my biggest surprise when I clicked on the “About Ana” link on your nav bar.
Mostly I must say it is very refreshing to find someone like you who is not afraid to confess their faith in Christ, the source of all things. God bless you!
I have been fumbling about for a while, using the trial-and-error approach to creating a web presence with my blogs and web sites. With your help, I know I will find focus and get on the path to success.
Thank you so much for being who you are and for being so willing to help others. You exhibit a fine example of how the web can be mutually beneficial.
Thank you for taking time to learn more about me. Yes I am proud and will always be on my faith. As to the information I share in my posts, I love doing what I’m doing, it’s my passion so I will know that I will never get tired helping others through the ideas I share with all of you. I’m also looking forward to knowing you and reading your blog as well.
I love your kindness and generosity too. I had no idea that Google treated “www” to “non-www” completely differently. I’m going to have to setup my Webmasters tools to reflect that too.
I’m also going to take a look at my no-follow and do-follow links thanks to this post.
I’ve always found Mavis’s blog quite attractive and it definitely has gotten better over time. I’m looking forward to seeing the improvements.
Great advice. Getting away from the computer is probably the most powerful way of relaxing and just letting the creative flow through out.
Whenever I go to the gym, I hear teenie bopper music all the time. It sometimes drives me nuts and I just can’t get into the rhythm of a workout. So in general, not a great idea.
LOL wayne!! well at least you’re in the right direction going to the gym!! You never know, a teenie bopper song may just come out that gets you movin!! Thanks for stopping by..
I have a quick question in regard to pinging. Is there a difference between using the different pinging services to ping for me vs. uploading the lists of ping sites to my wordpress backoffice?
Whichever way is more effective i’m all for, just wanted to get your thoughts?
The pinging websites are everchanging; that’s why I prefer to do both.
I keep a list of pinging services in my Wordpress preferences, which get pinged automatically. I also pinged my blog manually each time I publish a new post. That way I know I get all my bases covered.
Thank you Ana for a generous and thorough analysis of Mavis’s blog! I know Mavis and her blog for quite a time now and it was great to watch it developing in a great resource for Internet marketers. I learned a lot about technical details of blogging just reading your two blog reviews - now it’s time to take action and make some changes in my own blog. Wish both of you online and offline success! /Elena
I came back to this post via your audit of my blog. According to Google Analytics, my bounce rate tends towards zero. Should I take further data into consideration ?
Ana, you are DEFINITELY my new mentor! In just reading three of your articles, I just cleared up the cobwebs on SEO strategies I’ve been trying to figure out for MONTHS. My niche is in some serious trouble now!
I can’t wait to dive in a little more in depth on your blog over the weekend!
Wow, Thanks Jamie. I’m glad I made another follower out of you. As to your blog, I know you will figure that out. It’s a learning progress so just be patient and don’t give up, you will surely get there.
Mavis, your blog is so full of great info. Thank you for allowing Ana to do this audit on it. I’ve learned a lot from it and will have to figure out how to apply some of these tips to my own blog.
This is the best explanation of trackbacks vs pingbacks that I have come across. I was not totally clear on the two in functionality before, but fully understand now thanks to you.
I will rummage through my archives and seek out any undesirables.
This is an excellent idea for a blog series as it truly is informative for us all. I wasn’t sure how in depth this was actually going to go, but I’m blown away with the amount of information you’re providing that can help point out some things for me to think about with my own site.
Thanks for the tips , that is one thing we been trying to do is implement more landing pages and some of the other ideas are a great hep also to know ,

These instructions look pretty easy. Right now I am using the Add to Any plugin, plus a tweet button plus a Like button. Might be time for a change.
Hi Ana and Devish,

Oops. Looking back over that I can see typos. Oh well
Thanks again, Ana. I picked up a few more tips and learned some new tricks!
Hello Amy,
Glad you did. Those tips can surely help you.
Carry on,

Of course, truth is we can only guess WHY, but who truly knows Google’s mind?
I recently had a guest post from Ales Whalley on the topic: https://trafficgenerationcafe.online/google-sandbox-effect/; feel free to take a look at it, as well as the comments, see if anything jumps out at you.
Hope to see your site out and about soon!

Hi Ana,
I am getting so much value out of your Blog Audits that I can’t thank you enough for starting this awesome endeavor.
Hi Jeana,
Glad to hear that. Just keep coming back for more.
Carry on,

I do have an e-mail list, but not many of my visitors subscribe

Thanks for the ideas Ana
Hi Amr,
The Popup I am using is the fastest way to build your list even if you don’t have something free to offer!
Awesome post, Ana. I have heard that sometimes, changing the color of the submit/try now button also makes a lot of changes in the conversion rate.
This post stresses out the importance of always testing/tracking your sales page because there are more tips to increase conversion rate, right, Ana?
Thanks for the comment Mike. Yes you are so right.
Take care,
Ana
Excellent article and review Ana. I was reading your recommendations as I opened my pages to see how they applied. You made it clear, easy to follow. Thanks!

Hello Gibson,
Thanks for coming by. Glad you’re trying my suggestions in your own blog.
Keep it up,
Ana
If I like the content of an article or post I leave a comment, dofollow or not, comments also increases your traffic
Hi Manie,
If you love doing that then no problem at all.
Keep it up,
Ana
Thanks Sean,
I now have a better understanding of my permalinks and have put this information into use.
Thanks Anna, Sean’s site is a great resource. I will be spending some time there, no doubt.

Hello Sheila,
Thanks for the comment. I’m glad you love this post and that you learned something from here.
Glad you came by,

I love reading guest posts because it adds a little different flavor to the normal posting habits of the main blogger.
Tanya, this post was well done. I like the idea of promoting the blog of the site owner with internal linking.
Not only was the the information valuable but it was easy to read because of all the “white space” used. Thanks Tanya and Ana!
Hi Ana,

Mavis, your blog is so full of great info. Thank you for allowing Ana to do this audit on it. I’ve learned a lot from it and will have to figure out how to apply some of these tips to my own blog.
Thank you ladies!
Susanna
Thank you, Susanna. I grabbed the opportunity with both hands, lol!
That’s how we learn and I usually outsource complicated tasks, rather than pull my hair out.
Ana has a contact person to help with some of these issues - very inexpensive.
I always love what you share on your blog, Susanna.
Keep up the good work!

Good stuff!
Hi Jimi,
I’m glad you did. Knowing that many appreciate and learn something from what I share here makes it all worth it.
Have a nice day,
Ana
I’m very impressed both by the review and by Mavis’s site itself. Looks like someone else I can learn from.
Also it looks like I have a ton of work to do…as usual. Sometimes I wonder if I’ll EVER get my site to where I want it to be!
Anyway thanks, this is a huge help to me and others I know.
You can do it, John! One bite at a time…
The best part of these tips is the fact that you need to implement them only once to see the results.
See you back soon!
Ana

I look forward to next Friday’s audit!
So glad to hear that, James, and look forward to your input next Friday - and every day in between.
Ana
Thanks for the tips , that is one thing we been trying to do is implement more landing pages and some of the other ideas are a great hep also to know ,
Thanks Ana ,
Hi there,
You’re welcome. I’m glad we’re on the same page.
Keep it up,
