A few weeks back I wrote a post that got a great response from the blogging community. Here’s the link to refresh your memory:

“How Blogging Can Increase Your Traffic Generation by 67%”.

The biggest reason behind its popularity was the fact that I made it into a blog meme and tagged several bloggers to answer a simple question:

How Did Your Blog Kick Start Your Business Success?

The response was overwhelming.

As a matter of fact, I was so inspired to hear how blogging had changed so many businesses, I decided to write this post as a thank you for all the hard work everybody put into making this meme spread like a virus, but most importantly to share the inspiration.

Here are just SOME of the responses I got:

Chris Owen of ChrisOwenAcademy.com

As of 11 o’clock this morning when I ran the numbers, here are the stats for my blog for the first 13 days of this month:

179 opt ins for the Google Switch
81 opt ins for PPC Supremacy
41 blog box opt ins
17 opt ins for my primary business
13 opt ins for The Ultimate Sales Funnel project
$1,700 in affiliate commissions
I don’t have the numbers for sales of my primary yet because they overlap months, the Ultimate Sales Funnel isn’t taking in payments until later this week, and when PPC Supremacy Launches I get 51% commissions.

This is all from tracking stats pulled from the first 13 days of this month. Non of these numbers include any type of paid advertising, or really any advertising at all. It all came through readers to the blog, and links in the posts. And several more opt ins came through since I ran the numbers today.

Build one, feed it regularly. Four or five posts a week.

That’s how blogging can create a successful business for you.

Give yourself permission to succeed, on one else can.

No one else WILL.

I created my first business related post on June 21, 2010 and now one month later here are some stats:

-I have over thirty people in my training sales funnel.

-Four people have expressed an interest in joining my primary business.

-One person has joined my primary business.

Now for some traffic stats.

-My current one month Alexa Rank is 306,329 down from some ridiculous number like 7 million.

For some reason I am very popular in New Zealand which is a sign I need to book a flight and look my best.

Oh, Peter and your great sense of humor - you always brighten up our day!

So, the most important thing this blog has done for my business was … to connect me with a business that fulfills my unique combination of skills, passions and creativity.

Another great thing this blog has done was to re-connect me with my authentic voice. You see, I have been a law professor for more than 15 years. I have a great job teaching students how to represent small business and non-profit clients. But I live, eat and breathe legalese every day.

It took several months before I could bring myself to write in short sentences (and sometimes that still presents a challenge). It took even longer before I could talk about my personal opinions, without citing to some authority!

Anther great thing this blog has done is connect me with a community of like-minded people who are knowledgeable, generous and just plain fun to be around. I have learned so much from other bloggers, I only hope that my experience can help someone else along the way.

First I Have Technical Knowledge I Never Had Before.

Second I Have Made Invaluable Friends And Contacts.

It Has Increased My Visibility And Business Ten Fold.

Some very recent success from this process is I signed up another person in my primary internet mlm business.

Not that big a deal right? OK but I never even talked to him but guess how they got a hold of me and my information? You guessed the old mlm blog.

More Leads & More Money:

I received a commission check in the mail on Saturday and another commission email this morning because of my blogging. These checks are in addition to my network marketing override commissions, and they are coming more and more frequently as my blog traffic and my list grows.

I’m also generating more leads for my business every week. Before I started to blog, I struggled to meet people with my busy mom schedule. Arranging babysitters so I could attend networking meetings and purchasing tables at trade shows, was exhausting and really didn’t lead to the quality or quantity of prospects I was hopeful for. Buying leads was unsuccessful because I spent my money and my time talking with people who were not interested, not home, or not who I’d want as a business partner.

Now I’m talking to people who already know me, like me, and WANT to talk to me, and that’s made a huge difference in my motivation to call them and grow my business!

Over the last four and a half months my blog stats have done all the right things. The numbers that should have come down like my Alexa ranking, has and the numbers that should have gone up like my traffic, has. Translated this means more followers, leads and business partners, exactly what I wanted.

Since I started my blog, my business has changed dramatically.

From running all over town, doing presentations and demonstrations, to meeting numerous quality people all over the world, from home.

Amazing people in several countries who have become either

  • Friends
  • Business Partners in my primary company
  • Customers
  • Business Associates in the same industry (great for brainstorming)

Blogging is a powerful way to connect with people and share information. My blog is now my “Central Hub”.

Tommy DiPietro of TommyDiPietro.com

Here are some cool examples of how my business has grown:

  • When I started to put the time and effort into building my blog, my Alexa traffic rating was 15 million on March 1, 2010. Today, July 26, 2010 my Alexa Ranking 183,908.
  • I was able to brand myself as a leader and started my own Attraction Marketing System. This has taught me the specific tools that I need to know to conquer the Internet.
  • A great accomplishment was being a part of a VIP Mastermind group that had me on last week as a guest speaker.
  • The start of a new small business, I build websites using WordPress for small businesses in my area. My client list continues to grow and I learn more about SEO and Copywriting as I continue to work on them.
  • Taking my basic MLM Network Marketing blog and having it critiqued by Jason Better and reviewed by Mike Dillard. This is where the light bulb went on and the MLM Sales Strategies blog was born.
  • My list has tripled in size in four months compared to my list when I used a generic marketing system for the previous 2.5 years.

I am sure you found these post excerpts as inspiring as I did.

With that said, I want to hear from you.
