Awesome post, Ana. I have heard that sometimes, changing the color of the submit/try now button also makes a lot of changes in the conversion rate.

This post stresses out the importance of always testing/tracking your sales page because there are more tips to increase conversion rate, right, Ana? :)

Thank for for referring me to IMAutomator, Ana. This tool is so great. This is exactly what I am looking for. OnlyWire is so hard to use and it’s so frustrating. I did not know what to do next when I download it. Do you have the same problem with Onlywire, Ana?
  • Slugging It out: Why URL Is Important On-Site SEO Factor
Another tip I learned from the gurus about the SEO slug is remove the date, category, etc out from your slug and make it short and sweet. They say that it’s more easy for readers to remember and link to your content. Short slug also have an advantage of be shown full in the SERP. What do you think about it, Sean?

  • Sandbox Effect: How to Play Nicely in Google’s Playground
Lol, I have been sandboxed once in my life and I never want to experience it again. If you find out that you’re sandboxed, I think the quickest way is register a new domain name and then transfer your website over there. That’s what I did and it worked in my case. I hope next time, I will be more careful and check to see if my domain has been sandboxed. If it is, I will not register it :)
  • Need For Site Speed: Practical Guide For The Average Blogger
Nice points, Ana. One more point that I find out when I do speed optimization for my site is place a share box on sidebar and float it can really increase your blog speed.

The reason lies within the HTML structure. With traditional share box, it’s in between the content and footer sections. If one of the share services like Digg, etc, loads slowly, it will drag your site down, too!

Putting a share box float resolves this issue. You can put this box in footer and use CSS to position it in your blog. When your blog loads, all of the content, sidebar and comment will be loaded first so it doesn’t create feeling of content load slowly for users, and your sidebar share box can take time to load while users start to read the content. Very nice, right?

Ana, you have been a huge help in helping me understand SEO and blogging. I am currently building a new website and started a Wordpress blog. Your tips have been a life saver. Up until this point I have been somewhat discouraged due to my lack of knowledge.
Thanks Again

Don’t get discouraged Ric. Just be patient and continue to do everything to learn and develop your skills. In time, you will achieve your goal if you will not give up. Remember that all of us started with no knowledge as well and until now we still continue to learn. It is indeed a learning progress.

Keep it up,

Great tips Ana,
What I really don’t like are those longggggg landing pages that all look the same, like there is a default landing page template. And many make, which in my opinion is a mistake, their pages in such a way that you have to really try to discover what their offers has to offer (sort of speak ).
So my tip will be: First wrote all the stuff about your product/service and all it does and then write about all those success stories etc.

By the way blue = trust.. never knew that, so practically i have to trust you everytime you leave a reply :)

I completely agree, Alex.

I am not sure how those long sales pages became a trend - nobody I know ever reads them. We all just scroll down trying to find the important feature and the price!

I agree with your suggestion; next time I need to write one, I’ll get right to the point - like I usually do on my blog.

And yes, everything colored in blue on my blog (i.e. my comments) are the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. :)

All of these are awesome tips! I really like to use the color blue a lot within my capture pages that I create for business owners. Sometimes I’ll use different colors. But just like you mentioned…Blue = Trust

Ana - Great tips on increasing your site’s landing page conversion rates. Most of these I am already aware of but there are some that are definitely new to me.

Such as changing your background color to blue because it triggers trust and changing your white background around your text to light grey. It will be hard for me to implement the both of these since I was always taught to keep my background simple and white, but I will give it a try on one of my sites and implement it on my other sites if it indeed does increase conversions.

Changing the scroll bar to red is another one I haven’t heard of before but I’m excited to give it a try though. Thanks for the tips, I’m sure one or more of them will prove useful.

Ana,
I have a personal opinion on the style of the classic or typical landing pages: The majority of them look the same, and i don´t like the big letters, long text, etc. I’d like something more clean, carefully designed, not loaded. Well, that’s my ponit of view :)
