- Got Traffic? So What?
Hi Ana,I watched the video and the Subscribers magnet seems like a real good product. One of the team leaders for my core product provide a very basic tool similar to this. It doesn’t have all the features that SM has, so I’ll think about making this a part of my blog. Thanks.

- Sunday Coffee with Ana: Start Engaging Others or No SEO Will Help
Hi Ana,Glad to hear you’re getting some well deserved rest and recreation. It’s hard to believe that such a small percentage of your readers interact with you. I guess I have the same problem on my blog, even though I am getting more responses. I can remember having a similar problem on the school bus, talking to kids to try to get them to behave, and it was just as if I wasn’t even there. I just kept writing them up, and after a three month period of writing more referrals than for the whole fifteen years I’ve driven a school bus, I finally got their attention. Perhaps the overall audience is kind of a tough neighborhood, and we need to be persistant and direct about drawing out interaction. I hope that makes sense.

Hi Hector,I’m not equipped to podcast at this time, but I will have to put it on my wish list. The importance of traffic generation by whatever legitimate means is not lost to me. Hi Ana,I entirely agree about being hit with so many adds tends to put people off. I have a fairly large amount of patience with people selling things, but if it even begins to approach the level of ads that TV has (five minutes of show with three to five minutes of commercials) I “change the channel”. Your approach makes me wonder what you did with your “donate” button. If I can’t buy something, I want to give something. I did take your advise and took the FB fan page banner down on my blog. Thanks again and see you Sunday morning.

Dear Roy - usually smart people join my list because they want to improve their businesses.
Apparently, you are so new to this that you don’t even know that every time you comment with an unknown to my blog email or name or website, it automatically goes into moderation. Once I see it and see it’s legit, I approve it.
That’s what happened with your comment - and lookie-loo, it’s approved.
But now that you put your foot in your mouth, I say good riddance.

Hi Ana,
I’m doing everything you’re doing except I have ONE account.
And, it’s the first account I had on Twitter. I’ve had it for 2 yrs. I also
have a rating of 100 on Twitter Grader.
I’m not bragging at all, because I’ve worked hard and sacrificed alot of sleep.
I don’t work outside of the home. I only work at home. So I have as much
time as I want to work on the internet.
I spend atleast 4 hrs. day on Twitter!
I’m also #1 for the keyword Cashprofits on the first page of Google. But,
I’ve sacrificed lots of time to achieve these things.
What drives me when the results aren’t that great, is I’m determined I’m
not going to invest my life into corporate America anymore. CEO’s are a
bunch of greedy crooks.
CEO = Chief Elimination Officer
Here’s my advice, if anybody wants it. You will have to work hard to make a
siignificant income online. So what! Working 40-60 hrs. a day is working hard too.
And, when you get laid off, you’ll probably not get a severance package. Also,
most people will not find a job before your unemployment runs out. I know people
that have been laid off for 2 yrs. trying to find ANYTHING!
So, you can either try to invest some extra time into things that you build once, &
that provide residual income for you no matter what you’re doing, or keep doing
what you’re doing and get the same results.
I’m off on a tangent. But, I believe the secret to success is to set your mind on a goal,
and take all out massive action to reach it. You have to really know “Why” you want
to reach that goal, and never let up. It takes persistence & dedication.
Ok. So does it pay off? Absolutely!
My results :
About 2000 visitors a month, & I have the screenshots to prove it.
Roy aka Cashprofits
P.S. Good luck everyone! Don’t ever give up trying to achieve your dreams!

Hi Ana,
This is a cool strategy. I knew about sharing other people blog posts and this way grow your audience. I also knew about creating different Twitter accounts - for each business separately, but I never thought about the strategy to create multiple accounts based on the topic and then merge them together to drive traffic to one website.
It is a very interesting approach, let’s try this out.
Kind regards,

Thanks for sharing your methods and results in such detail! This makes it look like it may be worth a try. Still not sure because (1) this does look a little bit spammy, and (2) I normally run Linux… But definitely something worth considering.
As others have noted, the conversion rate from those visitors can make or break the value of this strategy. Maybe you should address that in one of your future posts. Should be possible to track with Analytics.

Well, Ana
I don’t know why you changed your strategy in the first place. When you have something that is working you don’t have to change it, you have to expand on it and improve it.
As I can observe twitter is pretty much about numbers, you can try and may get some quality, but if you go for just that you might miss some other visitors. Now what puzzles me is, will this 1000+ visitors produce more conversions (as in subscribe to rss, comment etc) then the 400 you got when you were going for quality?
You don’t need to answer that, but I am just wondering if you could get the same by doing less.

Thanks, Ana. I have been skeptical of Twitter’s utility because I know that I will not spend hours of my time monitoring what goes on there. Automating things the way you have done it, and with multiple Twitter accounts to expand your connections, is-what else can I say-brilliant!

I agree with you on this Ana 110% quality over quantity. I don’t refer anyone as a number but as a relationship to me. That’s if they are willing to establish that. It takes two to boogie. But I haven’t really learned how to use Twitter to the full extent but I know it can’t be too much more different than using Facebook. I slowly dabb a bit and sit, watch, and learn from what others do to pick up the healthy way of using it without people getting angry. Sharing and commenting on other people’s blogs is what I do best. And enticing them to check out a few things that maybe of interest. I practice some of these that you have listed. Thanks for sharing ANA

Hi Ana,
What’s the difference between TweetAdder and MarketMeSuite?
I look at both sites and they see the sameish…
Or, what do you find most useful in each tool?
Thanks,

Hi Ana,
You can have twitter quality with quantity, and your post proves this.
From my experience #6 and #7 are the best ways to get interested twitter followers, meaning live bodies who will spread your influence and stop by your blog. Twitter followers who don’t do these things are numbers. Numbers work well in the social proof department but it’s kind of tough to build a relationship with a number.
Automate certain processes but make sure to retweet frequently and answer every @mention personally. Also engage by tweeting questions frequently. Fellow tweeters will be willing to answer questions if you ask.
I have 5 twitter accounts set up myself. It helps to broaden your reach as you can only get so much accomplished with a single account. Leverage. Just be sure to send out a few engaging tweets and RTs from those accounts so others know that you aren’t a bot. People get more attention than machines.
BTW I agree with Heather’s statement and your response. You are uber-orgainized and I also have a minimalist work desk, consisting of a lap top. The less clutter the better is my motto.
Thanks for sharing your insight Ana. Have a prospering day

I like Twitter. I like it because, for me, it’s the chat of the future, AND it serves as my number one traffic source.
That being said, I once tried to keep two Twitter accounts and could barely keep up with it. Five? There is no way. Though I can definitely see what your saying.
I find your blog interesting because I completely don’t think about traffic the way that you and most of your readers do. It’s very useful, and I’m learning along the way. So thanks.

These are generally awesome tips, yet again, Ana! The only thing I disagree with is the DM. I feel DM’s are way too spammy these days and I don’t even check mine anymore. It’s just not worth my time to sift through the garbage to get to the good stuff, especially if all that’s in the DM is: “come to my blog! love me!”
I understand people don’t say it like that, but you get my point. I’d rather someone personally @ me instead of DM me. Just my 2 cents!
Thanks for the great article! Twitter still rocks.

Morgan´s last blog ..What’s up with this Social Media and Email Marketing War
Interesting to see the traffic goes back up. Correct targeting, as with everything marketing, makes a huge difference. Obviously
I spend very little time on Twitter myself, perhaps one hour per day all in. I set aside some time each day to use it as part of my market watching (for each of my niches), respond to @ replies, talk about whatever’s going on (like normal people do), and then let my follow app do the rest.
Twitter is still a great place to meet new and interesting people.
Robert Dempsey´s last blog ..What Does It Take To Be A Full-Time Affiliate Marketer
I second all your points, Robert, except for one: I only truly engage with people @WebTrafficCafe - that’s the only quality account where people can interact with me. The others are just running on autopilot.
I do agree though that Twitter doesn’t have to take much time - contrary to popular belief.
Ana´s last blog ..Link Building Tip- How to Get 10 High-Quality Links In 30 Minutes Or Less
I found that if your twitter accounts are largely running on autopilot without any personal interaction like mentionings and RT’s doesn’t bring any new followers your way as the ‘new follower/old follower leaving’ rate will be pretty much equal.
Very true, Andreas, but that’s not the point.
The point is not to acquire thousands of followers and keep them, but rather bring them to my blog. My DM message is the most important tool I use for that.
Anna, do you have any tips on how much content (tweets) to generate per Twitter account and how often to publish them throughout the day? Also does Twitter Adder permit you to publish tweets in blocks of 3 or 4? I recall reading that you encouraged this.
Arturo@Starting Your Own Business´s last blog ..I Have No Money To Start My Own Business! Does It Matter
Good memory, Arturo. Yes, you can schedule to publish your tweets in blocks with TweetAdder.
I don’t personally use TweetAdder for this specific task - I use MarketMeSuite for that since it lets me brand all my tweets and even add signatures, but you still can use TweetAdder.
When I just started, I made sure to post my blocks of 3-4 tweets at least every 3 hours around the clock.
Now that my accounts are more established, I pretty much publish whenever I want to.
