Hi Ana,

You can have twitter quality with quantity, and your post proves this.

From my experience #6 and #7 are the best ways to get interested twitter followers, meaning live bodies who will spread your influence and stop by your blog. Twitter followers who don’t do these things are numbers. Numbers work well in the social proof department but it’s kind of tough to build a relationship with a number.

Automate certain processes but make sure to retweet frequently and answer every @mention personally. Also engage by tweeting questions frequently. Fellow tweeters will be willing to answer questions if you ask.

I have 5 twitter accounts set up myself. It helps to broaden your reach as you can only get so much accomplished with a single account. Leverage. Just be sure to send out a few engaging tweets and RTs from those accounts so others know that you aren’t a bot. People get more attention than machines.

BTW I agree with Heather’s statement and your response. You are uber-orgainized and I also have a minimalist work desk, consisting of a lap top. The less clutter the better is my motto.

  List building is relationship building so it stands near the top of Must-Do activities for a blogger. I neglected it to my detriment. First because I didn’t feel like paying for a service, then even after I found out about Mailchimp I didn’t feel the effort of learning how to set up my campaign was worth it.   If you’re a home based entrepreneur I suggest starting a list from day 1. Trust is generally established over a series of days, weeks, months. Seeing great supplied by someone on a consistent basis makes you say “I like that dude, or dudette” and that’s pretty much the beginning of the money making process.

  1 - Like what person has to offer.

  2 - See what they have to offer over a period of time.

  3 The person grows on you, you decide you really like them.

  4 - You are willing to pay for the person’s product or service because you trust them.

  The real action verb here is “trust” and that’s what list building is all about.

  Super wrap up here. More than a few actionable power tips we can call take AND apply to our blogs, for as you mention unless you act on these tips they do you know good. Read, think, process, act….and don’t forget to act immediately!

  Now on to the challenge. I missed the post originally. Now that I see it, challenge accepted

  I like your mention of Cheryl’s post. Humor is disarming. Even though you don’t normally care for a certain type of post a funny lead-in combined with a silly image can put you in a light, relaxed frame of mind. When feeling this way it’s easy to abandon your viewpoints and simply be open minded to what is. This is a great lesson in mental science and human psychology for that matter.

  Mavis’s post was on the money. It was the only one from this list that I read and I must say all the tips were accurate and actionable. Excellent reading for someone who feels lacking in prospecting ideas.

  Hi Hector,

  Each time I see your name recently I see it linked with the word “Podcast.” I see how well it’s working for you. Certainly piquing my interest.

  The time argument versus SEO is a valid one. iTunes generates massive traffic and seems to be an underutilized niche. Until seeing your podcast posts recently there wasn’t much of a buzz surrounding the podcast-iTunes strategy. We know trying to go things too quickly on the SEO front results in being penalized. Our job as home based entrepreneurs is to leverage time. If you do something, make sure it creates an impression on as many people as possible. That’s why I write comments how I write comments

  Podcasts are relatively easy to create, personable, and allow you to connect with your audience with greater ease than the written word. Hearing someone’s voice creates the feeling they are there with you. Great stuff for the branding/trust department and isn’t this one of the key factors in any traffic generation campaign? Once you have someone’s trust you start to gain the trust of their friends, and their friends, and so on until you have a sphere of influence.
