Comment posted on Sunday Coffee with Ana: Traffic Generation at a Glance by Val @ Web Tracking Guide
Maybe I will consider CommentLuv for my blog after all. Several great blogs are using it with seemingly good results, so maybe I should learn from your example. PageRank leakage is not such a great problem as it used to be, so maybe the extra traffic and comments are worth it.
Announcing your next week posts is just wicked cool. I wish I had this kind of productivity and discipline. So far, I have troubles scheduling two posts ahead.

That’s strange. On my last visit, the main widget referred to
facebook.com/#!/simplebutcreativeblog
which has 937 fans. Now that I check again, it refers to
facebook.com/pages/Simplebutcreative-Community/163474473694899
which has 21 fan.I don’t know why it changed, and what is Kevin’s plan behind this.
Sorry, I missed your opt-in suggestion the first time I read your post. There’s so much good stuff in it!

Good advice here, this is indeed often overlooked by webmasters. One thing I would add is you can check your anchor text profile using Linkscape / Open Site Explorer.

Great post, Ana,I’m also a big fan of diversifying and having a system approach.
I think that while 20-30 traffic building methods is a worthy long-term goal, it is better to start with 2 or 3 and master them really well before adding more to the mix. Otherwise, you can get lost and desperate, not using any single method to its true potential.
Which leads to a question: can you please share the 3 traffic generation methods that bring the best results for you? I know Twitter must be there, but I’m curious about your other top picks, as well.
To share back, I’ll name my own top performing methods:
1) Guest blogging (50%)
2) SEO (25%)
3) Twitter (5%, I’m only learning to use it)I would encourage the other commenters to share their methods, too.

Hi Ana,Another great review! Your blog would be worth following even if these were your only content.
Kevin’s main FB fans widget shows 932 fans now, which looks like a nice social proof to me. Another FB link in the “Connect with me” section goes to a community with only 20 members, maybe that’s what you were referring to. I think maybe Kevin could promote that community using his more popular fan page, and make a clear distinction between the two, or leave only one in the sidebar, to avoid confusion.
Another suggestion I can make for Kevin is to add a prominent email sign-up form, possibly at the top of the side bar. If you don’t have a newsletter, consider starting one, it’s a great way to stay connected and get repeat exposure to your readers. At least, you can put a FeedBurner email subscription form there. Not all beginner-level readers will know what is RSS, so another prominent subscription option may help.

Thank you, I’ll try that!

Although I missed the live event, I appreciate you sharing the video. I have had some bad error ridden templates in the past, maybe it is time I give this Thesis theme a go.

Thanks for the PostRank inclusion.
There are a few ways PostRank can help with traffic. Most basically, you can see on what sites your audience is most actively engaging with your content, and how. Some hubs are more useful than others for driving traffic to your site.
With Analytics (http://analytics.postrank.com) you can see these activities as they’re happening, so you can engage with people who have questions or complaints and encourage discussion right way (ideally in your own comments section).
You can also do a bit of competitive analysis with Analytics to see how similar or competitive sites are doing on the social web, what topics or post styles seem to work for them, etc., and leverage some of that for your own audience.
In any case, happy to answer any questions or show you around.

I liked your suggestion about using commentluv to deeplink your posts, I see a lot of people commenting on their blog and leaving the url from CL, the same as the post, when they good put it to use for some SEO.
Also, checking google webmaster tools to see what errors you should fix, or better said what errors google thinks are the utmost importance and should be fixed.
Have a nice next Sunday Ana, have fun on your trip!

Hi Ana,
Another great Sunday Coffee (well Monday now).
I have been looking into Scribe SEO, I think it can have a lot of benefits to the average blogger. The price tag can seem a little steep, but if it does what it says then maybe worth trying, can always cancel.
Thanks

Hi Ana,
Comment luv is a good plugin, but I have a thought in my mind, that we are giving away too much of free backlinks for nothing. I don’t know whether I am wrong, but that’s how I am thinking. So I have removed the comment luv plugin from my blog. Your thoughts?

Hi Ana,
I was so unfortunate. I logged in, said hello and BAM, my internet connection went off. I could get back online only on Monday morning.
I am watching your video on Youtube. I can hear your hello to me. And, it was 7pm for me in India, but yes that doesn’t change my commitment
.
I recently was thinking of doing podcasts in my blog. Well, I just wanted to put an audio version as well for every blog post (I don’t know if that is called as podcasting
). I am bit shy with cameras to do videos (I know I miss a lot of Youtube traffic). So I am looking forward to your post on podcasts.
Great and insightful coffee time as always.
Will miss you for the next couple Sundays.

Ana it’s all good and fine but your title says “Sunda” I was wondering for two minutes what this African word means.
)) Correct it please to be “Sunday”.
Best regards.
Thanks for the heads up, Adam, didn’t see that. I have now corrected the title, as per your request
I know i may sound like an ass, but the slug is still “sunda”. lol
I can’t change the slug, Adam - all the links we’ve created will be rendered useless. So you’ll have to live with it

lol. I like your attitude. Very cute.
It doesn’t bothers me much, as you provide some quality, just thought i could help you make a step closer to something unachievable in the first place, towards perfectness… Don’t take in my mind keep on writing, filming, recording, etc. You will do great. I believe in ya.

Ana, this was a great session. Thanks for explaining how Scribe SEO works and for all of your tips on anchor text.
For me it sounds like Scribe SEO goes a step further than SEO Pressor which is what I have now.
I really appreciate the shout out and link luv too! Enjoy your ski trip and have fun with your family during your vacation.

Now, about the coffee….I have tried some wonderful European coffees and I have to say that you should certainly look into having your coffee delivered from One Good Woman in Baltimore. I do and OH MY is it fabulous!!!
Now, for the skiing…..be careful as we can’t handle a down and out Ana! I’m serious…..our czarina needs to stay put!!

My idea of skiing vacation is hot chocolate and fireplace.
Unless the fireplace blows up, I should be OK.
Wonderful to have you, even though not for the live version.
