Sleep? What is that?
Yes, it’s meant to be that way. I wanted to show that some of these tips are very subjective; it all depends on the niche, the readers, your style.

I don’t think you left anything out! If people can’t get their blog going with all these incredible ideas, something is terribly wrong. Love, love LOVE this site!!
Now that’s a list, Ana. I think the word digest is very apropos. You could keep a blogger busy for quite a while with this post.
#68 You’re just a little bit evil.
#133 Everyone thinks their joke is funny.
#175 What does pinging your comment do?
Some of these I’ve done, but you’ve given me several great ideas. Thank you in advance for the increased traffic these tips will create.

#68 - you have no idea!
#133 - I do!
#175 - good question. Just because you leave a comment (hoping for the link, of course), doesn’t mean search engine will ever or at least for a while discover that link. Pinging your comment URL forces the SE spiders to check it out and index it.

I think this post says it all: do what you do best and the rest will follow. Write about your kids, don’t write about your kids, write short posts, write long posts. The point is, whatever you do, do it well.
I’m impressed. I often find that so many “experts” on blogging don’t know any more than I do, but in clicking around your blog today, I’ve learned a lot, and gotten a lot to think about out.
Thanks. I’ll be back.
Thanks so much, Nancy - look forward to seeing you around.

Endless WISDOMfrom your Cafe Ana. I have learned a lot from you in my short time in the blogging in world…or the blah blah blahging world. I have decided to take you up on the challenge. Ana I don’t have time to read all 202 but I liked what I read…
I also didn’t read every comment but noticed #5 says don’t blog about your kids while #8 says do?
Did you do that on purpose to keep people on their toes?
David Beairsto invites you to read: Where Home Business Training Begins

Wow! What a list. I love lists like that because they make great “idea starters.” I can’t wait to give some of these things a try.

Quite long, and nice tips to increase traffic to any blog.
I use some of those techniques, but I also got to admit that they all seem pretty easy to do.
Really appreciate it.
Regards,
Dev
You are right, Dev - these tips are not very complicated. The problem for most bloggers is in the “doing” part.
Thanks for coming by!
Thanks for the list Ana! It’s good to have, and it’s also good to know I’ve already been doing some of them without even realizing it
You forgot one though, which you’ve displayed down here in the comment section. “Always respond when people comment on your blog.” You’ve done an amazing job keeping up with it!

I actually didn’t forget to mention that one needs to answer all comments: tip #18.
Ana
Well I guess it just goes to show, the older one gets, and the longer the list is, the harder it is to recall #18 by the time one reaches the bottom
In any case #18 is one of my favorites!
Ken from Advanced Market Training invites you to read: Notable Business Series – Brooks Brothers
I love that one as well, Ken.
You made me smile, by the way; I hope you make TGC your regular blog reading stop.
Being current is awesome. I write stuff on one of my blogs about tv shows like jersey shore, the game, and more and put polls. I get good daily visitors but nothing comes out of it.
The only problem with being current means that it is entertainment news. Entertainment news has been the worst for me and I never learned how to capitalize from it.
I guess your next post can be how to capitalize on different types of traffic.
Great list!

You are very welcome, Agatha - I hope you put this to good use.
Ana
Hi Ana,
WOW, what a list. Followed you here from we blog better.
Hard work and consistency are the key to traffic. Most people give up to easily.
I must admit I had a little laugh with #202 - Pray.
Love it.

Ana
Thank you for this great list Ana, very helpful!
Anytime, Ian!
that’s a huge and great list Ana. using some of them. will try other from this year.
Always good to know my blabbering is not in vain, Isha!
What a power-packed post. Loaded with great ideas for writing, not just blog traffic. The bottom line is, in my experience, it takes time. No quick fix to blogging building.
So true, Marci - hard work is the first priority!
Thanks Ana;
Not only did you make a thought provoking post you actually made me drink 2 cups of coffee :>o So my excuses are gone… The only thing missing is “Do it Now!” Knowing what to do is one thing, most of us already do. Doing it, and doing it now is something that very few of us do and that is the name of the game. #202 ! Yes!
Michael Brown
Here is goes, Michael - just for you:
#203. DO IT NOW!!!
And yes #202 is my favorite; always works for me.
Pleasure to see you back on my blog!
Two cups of coffee? I’m on my third! I totally agree, you did miss the get down and do it rule! However it is one of the most inspiring and thought provoking lists on posts I’ve come across.
Thank you for the ideas.
p.s. A post in itself would be all your contradictory ideas: write abour your kids - don’t write about your kids, post on weekdays - post on the weekends.
I think I’ve got coffee running in my veins by now.
Thank you for reading and… I use KeywordLuv, by the way, and would love to have your first name. I am not used to communicating with Rainbows on my blog.
Hi Ana
It’s interesting, I was mulling over my next post when I found myself reading your 202 bite sized tips, telling other people my opinion, no problem with that, writing about sports, given that I’m a professional sportsman by training I’ve never written on that although I did draw on some of my knowledge from that for my new years post in terms of fitness and staying focused
Your use of outrageous pictures always makes me smile, maybe a lesson there but in the end it’s about solid content that keeps us coming back
But the best bit is being inspired, look forward to Sunday Coffee, even if I haven’t drunk any for the last twelve years, far too healthy for my own good
Thanks for sharing Tony
I am flattered I kept your attention, Tony.
You know me: at the end, I am always about the content.
I used to stay away from coffee, but then I had a child…
Ana,
This is mind-blowing-great-to-have list. Thanks!!!!
Anytime, Marc - it’s a great reference for sure.
Wow cool stuff
My head is spinning!
All good though
Phill
Gotta take you time with this one, Phill - I still look at the list when I need an idea for a post; it works great for that!
Thanks for the help. Now all I need is the time to spend on my blog…
Balancing is always a challenge!
Just wanted to say that I have spent quite a bit of time on here as well, all kinds of good stuff to absorb. I would love to include some of this on my own blog, would you care to guest post for me?
I would certainly be honored…:)
Good morning, Dan - you are certainly welcome to use some of this info on your blog with proper linking to the original source, of course.
I am afraid guest posting would be out of question though; I still haven’t learned how to rubber stretch my day!
Ana
I just read this and decided that I’m going to “be everywhere, all at once.” Yes.
Good new year resolution, Alison - let me know how it works out for you.
Thanks for starting with my blog though; good choice.
Ana
Hi Ana! Great post, lots of brilliant ideas here! (Including a few contradictions)
Since there are no hard rules for blogging, I understand the contradictions! Have a great New Year!
Precisely my point, Daniel - blogging is never one size fits all kind of deal.
Thanks so much for your incredible support of my blog this year; look forward to the next!
Happy New Year,
Ana
Thanks Ana, I will be implementing some of those. Steve Wood informed me of you. He thinks very highly of you..carol
Wow glad to know that Carol.
Thanks for coming,
Ana
Oh! Massive list but Amazing, From where should i start Little confuse, just joke! Thanks for tips Ana!
Hi Rakesh,
With lot of things needed to be done sometimes its really confusing where to start, but I’m sure you can manage it.
Ana
Wow! This is really amazing Ana. I salute you for sharing these list of tips which really a big help for us. I really love the ideas. This one is really appreciated. Thanks for these valuable information.
Hello Maica,
Welcome to my blog. Thanks so much for coming and leaving a comment.
Glad you came by,
Ana
Wow! this is such a great list…I’ve only done a few of those things. Looks like I got long ways to go.
What’s the fun in knowing it all, Kevin?
Welcome to my blog.
Ana
Excellent article! Great tips!
Prayer is most important. Even though you cannot see Him, God is near, and always on hand to give us wisdom, ideas, creativity and inspiration.
Thanks Simon. Yes I agree with you, prayer is indeed the most important thing. I just put it in the last part because it has nothing to do with increasing traffic, still I wanted to include it as a reminder to everyone.
Glad you came by,
Ana
Excellent reminder Ana and Simon. (Besides, even if the other tips don’t bring traffic, He’s your #1 fan!)
Thanks Ana, I just found your blog via a guest post you wrote on Blog engage. I found that guest post because I was following Brian on twitter and he posted the link. So now you know how I got here:) Since I have been here I have been reading your content for about an hour.
Great Content, I think I will save this link and then try to implement as many of these ideas as I can.
So far I have 202 mastered which is the most important. Now on the rest…
So true, Casey - #202 is my favorite as well.
Glad you found your way onto my blog and, by the way, thanks for letting me know my post was published on BlogEngage - somehow I missed it!
Once again, welcome and hope to see you back soon.
Ana
thanks for these tips.every one is want to increase her site traffic so these these tips are helpful for them.i think f people follow your tips they can easily increase her site or blog traffic.
Thanks and hope you’ll use them as well.
Ana
The growth of your blog in such a short period of time is pretty amazing. That’s a good list. How long did it take you to compile it?
Hi Mark,
Well, it also take sometime.
Thanks for the comment,
Ana
OK, I am risking here, gonna sound stupid, but I am not getting the tips number 5 and 8
I don’t have any kids but should you write about them or not?
Is this a trick, ha ha?
Yes, it was, Brankica.
The point is it depends on your audience. For some blogs you’d better leave the info out, but yet for others it’s great to connect with the readers by telling them a bit about yourself.
Glad to see you not just read it, but REALLY read it!
Ana
Oh, I am sure reading it. There are only a few blogs I don’t just scan
and this is one of them! I can’t learn all from just one reading, cause all the posts have so much info but I am learning one thing at a time. So thanks for sharing all this.
PS I was thinking about printing out all the stuff I like here, but then I realized that would be pages and pages and pages
Let’s keep the world clean and save some trees!
Thanks for such a huge compliment, Brankica; it makes all the hard work worthwhile.
Ana
Thanks for the post! I thought my struggling meant I was doing something wrong.
You are so welcome, Amanda.
I struggle, therefore I am alive!
Struggling is a normal part of this business; as long as you know it and don’t give it a foothold in your life.
Ana
Hi, I just love the picture above! Cool granny! Your tips are so valuable, especially the last one. Thanks.
Hello Joel,
Thanks for appreciating it.
Regards,
Ana
why do you pray last?
what happen to seek 1st the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added on to you!
As you can imagine, Robert, praying is not a very popular traffic generation technique! So you could say I saved the best for last.
Ana
Wow! What a list of ideas and tips. Great - thanks a lot.
Thanks Elaine, I hope you learned something from my blog.
Glad you came by,
Ana
I think there are a great valuable words in the list above I would like to read again and again until remember what I really in the need to get traffic for my weblog, and no doubt I will be happy a day if finds to read the bloggers like you.
Glad I provided value for you to use on your blog, Robinsh, which by the way, I just got back from - nicely done.
See you around!
Ana
Thanks for the great tips!
No problem Alyson. Hope to see you again. I have more blogs here that you might find interesting.
Glad you came by,
Ana
Thanks Ana..that’s an amazing list of blogging tips.
You’re welcome Tristan. Hope to see you again. More interesting posts to come.
All the Best,
Ana
What a big list…!! How much time did you take to list out so many….??!!
Also I have got to tell you, I think you are one of the most dedicated blogger..!! You have replied to each and every comment..!!!
Thanks, Akshay - what’s the point of blogging if there is no conversation on the blog?
Thanks for coming by, hope to see you back soon.
Ana
Hey Ana, Another great list to tack to my wall. Love #108, it’s the one I try to focus on the most. Thanks Ana, good stuff.
Ana
Lol, Ana. Legendary post. *Hands Down*
I work as an SEO in a social media company, but personally started a blog on soccer. I don’t have any problems in social media niche, as I mastered it professionally and the fact that I am still on job means it worked for me
But, the ideas presented here will be of some great help in my soccer blogging. Seriously, this post is written to be bookmarked. It has lots of things to learn and implement. I know that these tips will come handy mostly for the people in social media and personal blogs but people can take something of it if they are sport-blogging.
I liked “…close the comments” tips the most. Ha!
Trust me, sometimes I feel like closing the comments…
So glad you enjoyed it; hope some of these tips will be of great service to your new blog!
Hey, any time you want to guest post on the latest and the greatest from social media, I’d love that!
Ana
Wow! What a mind frak.
You’re right I do need some time to digest this. What type of posts have you seen to have the biggest impact?
Thanks, Ian.
I’ve done a little bit of everything on the list. I am actually thinking of doing a series on the best strategies; please check back for it!
Ana
Great list indeed. I’m saving away for reference purposes. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Chadrack - welcome to my blog.
Ana
Thanks for such a thorough list! There are several that I have added to my to do list. But I really like #162. Collect inspirational quotes from other bloggers in your niche; compile them in a post. I’ll get to that this weekend.
Thanks for coming by, Kurt; I am glad you took away some nuggets from the post.
I’d love to see your post after you are finished with; come back and post a link in comments!
Ana
Liked the last one “pray” if only more people understood the importance of that !
And the rest of the list, very interesting and valuble.
Definitely agree. I usually start and end with that one whatever I do.
Ana
Ana, This is a thorough list that is going to help me incrEase my web profile, you always inspire me with the content you write….CONTENT IS KING
THANKS
You are very welcome, Reesa; thanks for using my tips.
Awesome list Ana - do you sleep? Confused me a bit with #5 and #8? Or were you testing to see if we were concentrating lol! As you know I’m a big fan of #14 myself - a bit of friendly humour goes along way
Cheers Kiaran
Sleep? What is that?
Yes, it’s meant to be that way. I wanted to show that some of these tips are very subjective; it all depends on the niche, the readers, your style.
Friendly humor is thy name, Kiaran; just look at your gravatar!
Ana
Wow! Great List Ana! Just what I needed to get started. Two thumbs Up!
Thanks, Rona! Only 2 though? I feel shortchanged…
Hi Ana,
I started reading this list, and it was just too much. So I’m bookmarking it so I can come back again and again to learn more and more.
Awesome list and a great resource! Thank you for sharing it with us.
All the best,
Alan
You are absolutely right, Alan.
It’s a lot to digest in one setting and it’s really not meant to be read that way.
I was hoping it would be more of a guide to come back to when looking for post ideas.
I appreciate you stopping by! See you back soon.
Indeed this IS the Bible of Blogging. . . .thanks so much for your efforts!!
Thanks, Alison - I certainly enjoyed putting it together. Hope you use at least some of those tips!
Ana
Ana,
Wow,what a great list., All of these great ideas put together as a great reference for blogging. I found your site through Faith’s post. I’m glad I stopped by for a read,
Val
Glad you stopped by, Val - hope to see you back soon.
Ana
I agree with Julius ultimately we are looking to connect with our audience so generating a lot of traffic is only a means to an end. Living out loud, living our passion, set yourself on fire with your passion and they will show up in droves.
Fabulous traffic generating tips. Thank you for going over and beyond in your posts.
Faith
You are very welcome, Faith - it’s good to see you on my blog again.
Passion is certainly one of the key ingredients to successful blogging - it’s impossible to stay on top of it otherwise.

~Ana
Hey Ana
That’s a great list and to be honest I could not even read the complete list.. Too biggy
But bookmarked for future reference and also shared on Twitter..
To be quite honest with you, Harsh, that was exactly the point: make the biggest and hopefully the most viral blog traffic tips list out there.
Hope I succeeded - time will tell.
Meanwhile, I have a resource that I myself often come back to when my mind is blank and I need an idea for a post
As always, thanks for stopping by.
~Ana
Ana,
An absolutely wonderful post. 202 ideas were quite a lot to come up with I imagine. They seemed quite good and I got at least a few post ideas in my head just from reading through your list.
Thanks,
Steve
The great thing about Internet that it offers such a bottomless pit of information.
Writing this post was not hard, just took a long time. Every time I’d read a post with a great blog traffic tip, I’d “file” it away till I had enough ideas for this post.
I am very grateful for so many great bloggers/marketers out there that make writing these kind of posts possible.
Thanks for the comment!
~Ana
Hey Ana
Such A nice tips “Ana”..I am impress form your research.”How to increase our blog traffic” in months rather than a years but i am confuse in one tips. You mention in your tips that don’t write on your (Cat,Dog and other stupid things). Why?

Hi there Ana, that’s what I call over-delivering, pushing the boundaries and smashing through the barriers!!! Your 202 list satisfied #6 for sure and too many others to count.
This is so helpful to so many bloggers, beginners and pros alike. Thanks for putting in the extra effort Ana. Your work is most appreciated. Be well, Steve D.
Pushing the boundaries all right…
I am very pleased you found my post helpful, Steve; would love to see you share with your followers!

Brilliant, to the point, just like this comment
Love your commenting style, Alex - if you don’t compliment yourself, who else would?

Ana,
You knocked it out of the park this time.
The list will help greatly with our P.E.M. ( Plan, Execute, Measure ) strategy.
Already highlighted favorite tips, printed and posted next to my monitor
so they are readily visible and up front for implementation.
Also, thanks for the feedback on the Install OnlyWire plugin, will check it out.
One question and observation, doesn’t look like you are using commentLUV any more?
Oh, and I really like your tag “Please enjoy, implement, and share.”
Make it a great day,
Dennis
Lead, Follow and Share!
Hey, Dennis - the best compliment I can receive is to hear that someone found my post helpful.
I am not sure about CommentLuv; it should be working fine - maybe it was out for some reason? Seems to be working fine…
Thanks, Dennis!
This is a great list! I’m trying to blog more and more - writing guest posts and posting on my own blog - so this list is very helpful. Thanks for sharing Ana!
You are so very welcome, Abby - I love your blog!

LOVED this, THANK YOU Ana!!!
You are so welcome, Jill; thanks for the comment!

Nice article Ana. These are all great tips on how to increase your blog traffic. I also think that the more active you are the more traffic you will ultimately get. I am not really active at the moment thus I am not getting that much traffic. But I also think that traffic is not the most important thing.
Traffic is not something that will keep you blogging for a long time. Ultimately it’s about passion that will not only help to generate tons of traffic but that will also make you successful in life. Nice blog by the way
True, Julius, passion is what ultimately will keep you going.
However, those two go hand in hand - what’s the point of your passion if nobody sees it and reads about it. You definitely need traffic for that.
Pleasure to see you stop by my blog, Julius!
Well your point is valid. But having passion also means that you influence others. And that will ultimately spread and drive traffic to your blog, maybe it will just take longer.
Thats just my point of view. I am always the kind of slow-progress-guy, just in terms of my blog growth
No, I agree, Julius - it’s impossible to produce good content without passion and it’s impossible to be a long-term blogger without passion.
Thanks for starting a discussion - I love those!
~Ana
Hi Ana,
you never cease to amaze me at the valuable content you make available on your website, no wonder you have so many loyal followers!
Thanks, John!
Hello from Montana:
I can so tell that I would love you as a friend. Your posts are a hoot. I usually write about family relationships (both nurturing and toxic) but now am concentrating on Cyber Bullying. Yikes. Some people think cruel is cool. Not so.

Best,
Ana
And to think I didn’t know what to write about this morning!
Thank-you!
Have no fear, Ana is here!
Glad I could help, Greg:)
~Ana
Thanks for the tips Anna ! I have shared this on facebook and twitter but will share it again for those who may not have paid attenion the first time.I found your list very helpful!
I do appreciate it, Kimberly.
Yes, I love my content shared, but I also love to help more people to get their creative juices going and bring more traffic to their blogs.
Tweeting and sharing on FB definitely helps!
Best,
Ana
Wow Ana, that’s about as comprehensive a list as I’ve ever seen. It’s a good one to print out and tack to my wall. Ideas don’t come to me automatically, especially at 5:30 in the morning
I need a good list like this one. Thanks!
Glad could help, Liz - I think my list will look great on your wall!
~Ana
Oh Wow, Ana! What a comprehensive list you are sharing here.
No more excuses for not achieving blogging success!
Thanks for all you do.
All the best,
Mavis Nong
I so appreciate you stopping by, Mavis; I really hope you were able to use a couple of nuggets for your blog.
~Ana
Hey Ana,
As always full of value and you are still giving these secrets away for free, you are too good,
.
One of my favorites is to “Install OnlyWire plugin – simultaneous posting to many bookmarking sites.” With one click of the button, it saves time and you are sharing content to many sites. It is an awesome plugin.
Thanks for the value Ana!

MLM Prospecting Hero
Hey, Tommy - I’ll come up with a fee chart just for you; it’ll will go into my retirement jar
.
I love OnlyWire as well. I just recently started using it and see how much time it saves and encourages people to bookmark my site simply because it’s so easy.
Thanks so much for stopping by, Tommy!
~Ana
Ana that is an awesome list!
Actually, I’m going to print it out. This list just got the creative juices flowing and I want to keep it handy.
Thanks!
Susanna
That’s a great idea, Susanna.
It’s all about how you put these ideas into practice; bookmarking it and never returning back won’t help your business much.
~Ana
You’re right, if you can’t increase traffic to your blog with some of these ideas - you’re stuffed.
It’s also a timely reminder that there are a lot of ways to keep your blog fresh, relevant and interesting. Just applying a few of these suggestions is all it will take. Great list.
Sam
I really appreciate your feedback, Sam.
I love this list; I’ve used many of these ideas and got a great traffic bump.
I think many people have hard time with following through with something more so than with coming up with an idea.
Best,
Ana
Wow that is one heck of a comprehensive list. I think the key is not to get excited that there are so many options and then implement none but to choose those that resonate with one and take action! Thanks for sharing so many awesome ideas.
~Marcus
You are so right, Marcus.
What’s the point if you don’t implement? I’d recommend the same: pick a couple and run with them.
~Ana
Wow Ana. These are great.
With all of these, there really isn’t reason why someone would want to blog. The proof is in the pudding.
I can’t help to mention my favorites are 7, 75, and 171.
Thanks for sharing this HUGE list.
Jerome Ratliff
Thanks, Jerome!
I love 7 “Write with “everybody is entitled to my opinion” attitude.” It’s very personal to me since my blog helped me discover my “voice”.
Ana I’m sure you left something out I just can’t think of it right now.
No seriously this is a Brainstorm 101 and a great post to read to get the juices flowing.
I will have to refer to this when I get short on ideas which can happen often so 202 for me OK? Thanks for all you do.
Steve
Thanks for cheering me up, Steve:).
I’ve read too many 101 lists, so to outdo them I had to work twice as hard.
~Ana
Hello Ana, fantastic list, but there is one tip that stands out for me.
“Make it easy to share what you are doing”
I comment on many blogs and some of them make me jump through hoops to syndicate their content. Chances are all I will do is comment and that is such a waste, especially if I want to share their post.
I suggest a WordPress plugin called Digg Digg to allow for easy syndication. I also suggets you place Digg Diig at the top of your posts and another plugin like Bookmark and Share at the bottom.
That way you catch them coming and going
I agree, Peter.
I am one of those people who won’t do different bookmarking/social media sites one by one either. It just takes too long and my time is valuable.
That’s why I love blogs with OnlyWire plugin - I can share the post with ALL social outlets with one click.
Thanks for the great suggestion, Peter!
I second Michael’s Wow ! Great List Ana.
I have come to the conclusion over the weekend that I need to really concentrate on a plan, and try not to go down too many rabbit holes.
This saves me the trouble of writing a list for post ideas, or guidelines , and is going to help me tremendously.
My favorites are 2, 26, and 202
Thanks
Neil
Thanks, Neil!
I think your blog definitely follows 2 and 26 and that’s a great niche to be in.
I am glad I was able to give you some ideas - that’s what I like to hear!!!
~Ana
OH WOW! Ana, this is one awesome list with some really great ideas that ANY blogger should be able to use.
Couldn’t help notice a conflict between points 5 & 8 though!
I know I’ll be using this as a reference often.
Stay inspired,
Michael
Thanks, Michael.
You’ll find a few contradictions here and there:).
The point?
To show how subjective blogging is. What is right for one audience, might not be right for another. Your blog, your call.
~Ana
I think #5 is valid if you take out the kids. We feel different when we read, hear or talk about kids. I am sure dog and cat lover will say something similar too. There are just too many personal blogs with people posting anything and everything like, my dog made a mess on the carpet oh crap I ended up cleaning it or school closed working from home with screaming kids. Tweeting, blogging or presenting anything in general should be all about the readers or the audience. If we use that perspective, people will read or listen. Building credibility is the key. In the web world that means try to influence the influencers. Oooo that sounds evil
.

Saidul Islam invites you to read: Trying to stop my racing mind
That’s exactly my point, Saidul. Your blog should be about your readers and not about you.
Hi Ana,
that is without any doubt the most thorough list about generating blog traffic. Who still can say that he or she has no clue what to write about and how ?
Thanks for sharing. I’m going to share this with my following on social media.
Take care
Oliver
That was exactly the point, Oliver.
For the most part, we already know how to generate all the traffic we will ever need; however, we lack in implementation department.
With a list like this, it’s hard to say that you still “have no idea”.
Glad you were able to stop by!
~Ana
