Comment posted on Blog Audit Friday: This Is How the Strong Become Stronger by Brankica
Great audit, Ana, as I read through it I was going back and forth from your blog to Robert’s blog and back to mine, comparing and fixing stuff.
It took me more than half an hours to read the post…well not the reading itself of course ![]()
But I did find some mistakes in mine and fixed the biggest ones (I hope).
I am so glad I learned about some thing before I ever starting building websites or blogs because I would be so scared and would probably give up eventually.
Off to do some more fixing ![]()

Hi Ana, This is the first audit I have read on your blog and I must say you really do a great job. The analysis is detailed and I went back and forth between reading the post and looking at Susanna’s blog to see what you were referring to. You made great points and I believe all of them can be improved. Susanna really can use these tips to make her blog look even better.
I didn’t even know that the date of expiration of your blog has an effect on Google, great thing to learn about.

Wow Ana,
Again, this is so full of value… Some of this I remember fixing on my own blog over the past year, and a couple of things I can certainly still work on and apply.
Tough love, that’s the way you give it and honestly, that’s the best way. In these audits there is so much to cover that it would be annoying to read if it were all fluffed up.
I have to say, when you did mine, the audit itself didn’t sting as much as some of the thoughtless comments. You’re telling it like it is and it’s SO HELPFUL to know what to do.
Robert, I see you’ve made some of these changes already and it’s looking good.
Some will take time, I know because I’m still working on the suggestions from my audit! lol You’re very brave to do this, and I can’t wait to watch your blog really grow as you implement these suggestions.
Thank you Ana and Robert. This was very useful!

Hey Ana,
Wow, what a powerful and comprehensive blog audit we have here! You have left no stone unturned!
What I like about you is that you tell it like it is, nothing but the raw truth, which is why your blog audits are priceless.
I’m sure Robert is very appreciative of what you have done here and the amazing tips that you have given him to take his blog to a whole new level. Yes, he has a lot of work to do, but it will be all worth it. That’s the idea behind these audits.
I highly recommend your SEO report to your readers. Anyone who is serious about learning and mastering SEO, should grab a copy, they will be thankful they did. It’s SEO made easy!
Thanks for all you do for the blogging community and keep ROCKING!!

Hey Ana and Robert!
Robert, you were brave enough to have this audit done and I think you knew that some of this was going on but you just needed a push from Ana to get started on your SEO.
I’d like to make another small recommendation and that is for you to start using a favicon to reinforce your brand awareness. There’s a good plugin by Yoast that allows you upload any 16×16 image file for this. I love the one that Ana uses of the little coffee cup.
There’s another SEO plugin that I use called SEO Ultimate and I find it very user friendly and a good alternative to All In One.
Ana,
Thanks for sharing all of the fantastic tools, for example indexedbygoogle link. I found that one of my Blogger blogs isn’t indexed, and in that case I don’t really care but it’s good to know that all of my important blogs are indexed. And of course thanks again for introducing me to Market Samurai.
I’ll be voting for this one with all the buttons you have over on the right.
Hang in there Robert, things are going to get so much easier for you after you do the homework that Ana has laid out for you.
Here’s to your success!

Hello Everyone,
I am not commenting on this post specifically, but to the many posts I have read at Ana’s Traffic Generation Blog. My Fitness Blog started out about 60 days ago with no Alexa ranking (Traffic Measure), then it was about 14,000,000. Wow, I was noticed! As of this morning, I broke the 1 million mark (943,394)! I know it’s still high, but still exciting. I now have about one to two new subscribers to my Opt-in list each day! Again, may not be much to many, but I do attribute much of it to reading the intelligent posts here! Good luck everyone!

I gotta say, your audits are better then so many reviews I see, and they charge for it!
They’re also exactly the way it should be done; the way I try to teach others to do them…..brutally honest, but with a touch of class and always helpful.
“This is bad, fix it” is no good for anyone. “This is not so good, but here’s 3 suggestions to make it better”…..perfect!
Btw, commentluv appears to be on the fritz.
Thanks, Dennis.
I will look into CommentLuv; appreciate you bringing it up to my attention.

Hi Ana,
wow, another powerful audit from your desk. As far as I’m concerned, I had some type of guts feeling that something was wrong with my blog and I even sensed what, not in entire detail of course.
So no need to whine if someone points it out professionally like you.
Deep down, we know it already.
If I go and see a doctor because I feel sick I want him to tell me what I have and not that I am healthy when I’m not. I mean, even positive thinking has its limits.
That was my attitude when I volunteered for your blog audit.
I am sure that Robert also views it from the professional angle.
The good thing about your audits is their regularity. Every Friday they remind me of my own points of ache and that my to do-list that is still long.
Thanks for sharing your expertise.
Take care

I simply get a kick (and another in the ass for me) out of reading your Audits. Not because you so kindly thrash a blog and try to better it with your ultra-constructive criticism, but also because I gasp at the thought of all the things I’m lacking and doing wrong.
This series just rocks!
And in this particular post, I discovered a ton of new goodies. I didn’t know about http://validator.w3.org/ - so of course I went running to see my structure. And I am officially petrified at the thought of fixing it up!
I also just installed the Smush.it plugin that you recommended - I only have 436 more pics to smush lol! I’m thinking SMUSH THIS right now lol!
I’m still using Disqus which in turn makes me a F#$%@ a no follow and no good for links - still waiting to switch over to ComLuv once my new blog design is done - any day now hopefully.
Let’s not even talk about my lack of SEO and keyword search. So…I re-downloaded your Search Engine Domination report! Looks like I’ve got homework to do!
Anyhow, all that to say: I think Robert may be on the verge of tears right now at the thought of the amount of work he has to do, but I’m sure he’ll be smiling like there’s no tomorrow once he’s taken and applied your absolutely awesome advice here. Actually, he’s probably smiling as well now at the thought of free advice from a Pro.
I’ll be looking forward to seeing the changes he makes on his blog and hearing from him as to how they positively affect it (in due time). I have no doubt that Robert’s blog will soon kick some serious SEO ass and achieve the goals he has in place for it.
I can see that he’s on the right track already with his interesting content and the amount of comments that exist on many posts. Nice
!
Ana - when people turn to you for help or an audit such as this, they know by now what to expect - NO BS or sugar coating but the hard truth! And I for one admire that. I know my blog can be greatly enhanced for I lack a considerable amount of the things you pointed out. But I wouldn’t want someone to simply tell me it’s good as it is. It’s all about learning and improving.
After all, no site is perfect and you’re only trying to reinforce and optimize the professionalism, level, appearance and traffic.
Excellent audit as usual Tzarina
. Always nice to come here and take away such useful information. Thank you!
Best of luck to you Robert.
Cheers

I LOVE when you stop by and tell me like it is - how great I am, how much you love my blog, etc. No wonder I look forward to each visit!
I didn’t know you are redesigning your blog; I bet you’ll knock it out of the park like you always do.
I am not a big fan of checking out my blog on validator.W3 - I always find a bunch of HTML errors that need to be fixed. I ended up just outsourcing that part altogether; no reason to pretend I could fix it all on my own.
Sugar coating…
I wish I had it in me! So does my husband.
There are times when sugar coating is great, but never in business, you are so right, Ingrid.
I sometimes get tired of the sweet “Great post!” comments and just wish people weren’t so afraid to truly speak their minds.
I know you are not afraid to and that’s one of the reasons I love your blog so much, Ingrid.
Anyhoo… Have a great day and see ya around!
Ana
Hey Ana,
I assure that my tooting of your blog is genuinely meant and well deserved
.
I have no patience for brown nosing - I’m good at it lol but it’s just not my style. At least not when it relates to my blog writing or comments. In general, I’m polite and respectful cause it’s just the way people should be.
I prefer to tell it the way I see it and although my sarcasm conveniently gets in the way, I’m usually quite diplomatic in my everyday speech.
I don’t do the drive-by “great post” kind of thing. I’d actually rather not comment at all if I have nothing else to say. No matter how good the post is.
Yes, I am indeed redesigning my blog. But for obvious “CSS and friends” reasons I hired a Pro to do it for me using Headway. I actually designed the current one myself except for one little thing and plan to keep the style and feel rather similar with the new one. You can imagine all the emails and requests I had. But again, I work a lot with website companies so I kinda know the process.
Your husband may wish for the sugar coating just as much as my father can wish for the absence of my sarcasm hehe
.
Thanks for your super reply and again for sharing your wealth of knowledge.
All the best
PS - Feel free to use any one of my comments as a guest post haha
Ingrid Abboud´s last blog ..Harvard’s Guide to Social Media
Hi Ana,
I noticed the comment earlier from a gentlemen requesting a site audit. Curiosity is killing me, so I must ask. I use a site auditor for the MECHANICS of my site (i.e. broken links, redirects, 404 errors, etc.) These are crucial for the flow of your site for search engines. However, this is different from a PERSONAL audit (One that I am not qualified to do!). So, I was wondering if you gave your audits a statistical analysis (Mechanical) and your “personal” touch as well. Make sense? Thanks, Bryan
Bryan Hollis´s last blog ..Sports Lifetime Achievement Award
That’s a very good point, Bryan.
When I first started doing these audits, I had to figure out what factors will have the most impact on one’s SEO and what things would not be uncovered by various automated “blog audits” out there.
I kept tweaking it more and more as I published my findings.
You are right: there are many more factors I can cover in my audits, but 1. “mechanical” audits should be performed by every blogger on a regular basis, 2. my blog audits would get way too long
; as it is they take me several hours to prep and type up as a post.
When I do paid ones though, I do provide those details.
Always good to know you are on top of the technical aspect of your blog; more than I can say for most bloggers!
Ana
Ana:
This was another great audit. I am confident Robert will take away from this everything he needs to build a better blog. When people come to you, they want the bare knuckles raw truth and that is why your service with this is so precious. Sugar coating never helps anyone, ever. I know with your tips he is going to get it all squared away and see the rewards of making changes!

How’s your day going so far?
Ana, this is my first major reading of a particular blog post. I signed up for your feeds a few weeks ago but haven’t had time to do major reading. And I have to say that I will be paying a lot more attention from now on. Such great advice. And I have so much to think about now! I’m going to have to go back and read your other audits, for sure!
One of my goals for this new year is to make my blog the best it can be. I’ve had it up for just over a year now and it has gotten better with time but I know that it is not where I want it to be yet. This audit has definitely given me food for thought. Thanks!
That’s a spectacular goal to have, Danielle - I think I am going to add it to my list as well.
Thanks for subscribing, but even more so, thanks for actually finding the time to read. I know we are overwhelmed and bombarded with information from all sides, but it’s still very important to find time to educate ourselves and continue finding ways to improve our businesses.
I am glad my blog audits will help you get closer to your goal of improving your blog!
Ana
Ana,
Ana,
Another great audit.
Configuring All In One is easy. It looks like it just has not been done.
Not having your title and description done has caused the noindex.
Need to add the home page title and description - this is a great time to tell exactly what your blog is about using your keywords.
The rest should already be configured for you….but you can look to see…
Make sure Canonical URL’s and Rewrite Title Boxes are ticked. Now make sure No index for Categories, Archives, Tag Archives, Capitalize Category Titles are ticked.
Save changes. Now when ever you post be sure to scroll down to the bottom of your dashboard and write the title and description you want the search engines to read.
