Nice post, Phill!

I only had experience with the interviews from the other side, and only once. What I can add from that experience is that interviewing a product maker is a great way to become a super affiliate! That interviewer sold a few dozen copies of my product by removing my stranger status in the eyes of his readers.

Guess I should explore the opportunities to interview other people myself.

Mentors are everywhere its not like its difficult to find one but for me it was finding the right ones then it became so much easier to learn the huge amount of stuff that you need.

Hey Phil,
I knew that interviews can get you a lot of exposure not only because you can throw some big names on the list, which will for sure increase your credibility, but also because you will actually get twice the power, that is, bloggers that you will interview will share the news on their blogs and will for sure mention you.

And if you did something like 10 interviews with people that have more then 10 000 subscribers, I can only imagine how much traffic can that bring, not to mention the great information all that combined interviews would contain.

So, interviews are great for traffic and exposure, but you took it to an other level. Great job, Phil!

interviews are a great way to generate lots of traffic in no time, the reason for this is that when you interview someone (a popular blogger in his niche) he will share his post with host friends and on social media - this traffic added in the traffic you are getting and you also do the promotion of that article which will increase day by day.

When interviewing interesting people, you usually also get traffic 2 ways, through your own website and through the website of the person who was interviewed, when they mention that they have been interviewed by you and point to your website.

Hi Phill,

My word of the year for 2011 is ‘focus.’ Coincidentally my word of the year for 2010 was also ‘focus’. So I agree with you 100% that you should pick a pre-defined number of traffic strategies and work the heck out of those.

Though when I started out, I chose only two traffic building methods to build my business. My expertise in those methods blossomed very quickly. So quickly that it surprised me.

And it really does help to choose methods you think you’ll enjoy doing. There’s always a new technique on the horizon… but if you don’t utilize your natural strengths, you’ll find yourself constantly struggling to gain your footing.

Pick 1 strategy learn it , use it , succeed with it and outsource it!
To know and not to do is not to know!
I think most people I speak to give up after trying 1 strategy for 1 day, it takes time and loads of effort to get that 1 strategy they will catapult your business into the next stage.
Yeah use what you got no point trying to do videos if you hate yourself on video!
