Some of you, old-timers, might remember this post, in which I described traffic generation/link building steps I take once I publish a new post.
For the rest of you, here's the link:
Then Kristi Hines from Kikolani.com asks me to take a look at a book she just wrote called
Blog Post Promotion: The Ultimate Guide.
Turned out she wasn't kidding at all when she called it the ULTIMATE guide. I was reading it and taking notes - it was that good.
In this guide, Kristi spills the beans (all of them, I must add) on how to increase the popularity of your blog posts, articles, videos - you, in other words.
No wonder she won every single contest I ever entered it - I even quit doing them for a while if she was in it - not kidding!
However, now that I know what she knows and how she promotes her contest entries, the playing field is, once again, even. At least I think so.
I gladly wrote a review of the book, and since I am too lazy to write anything original right now, I'll just copy and paste what I told her (it's not about working harder, it's all about working smarter, right? 🙂 ):
“So you wrote a blog post. It might even be brilliant. I know, I’ve done that before – writing brilliant posts. Here’s the problem though: if your brilliancy doesn’t include knowing how to get that incredible post of yours out to your potential reader, you might as well quit writing now or forever hold your peace.
There’s hope, however, and, as brilliant as you are, you must’ve already guessed that you have finally found it… right here, at the footsteps of Kristi’s Blog Post Promotion Guide. I have to admit, I’ve done this whole “blog post promotion thing” once or twice before; even wrote about it on my blog… once or twice.
However, once I saw the possibilities and opportunities to advance my blog content I’ve never heard of or considered, I was hooked. My blog promotion to-do list is now just about as long as Kristi’s guide (good thing) and I am ready and armed to use her uncharted, yet so practical tips to take my blog to the next level. I strongly suggest you do the same.”
I mean it.
This book is so inexpensive (only $27) and provides such awesome advice that it would be a shame to miss the boat on this one.
Here's my affiliate link again - and hope you'll take my advice on getting your hands on your copy right now… actually, take my advice on everything I say, but let's focus on one thing at a time. 🙂

Since all of you rushed off to buy the book, I might hear crickets in my comment section today…
However, do let me know how you like the book!

Promoting your posts is very important if you want to have success, otherwise you will write for no one. Kristi is a very reputable blogger and I am sure that her ideas and methods are very good. Thanks for sharing this with us.
I agree, Bit. If you want your posts to be found and read, you need to promote them massively… Kristi’s guide is a good read indeed.
All the best,
Mavis
You are most certainly welcome.
And by watching her around the blogosphere and how she manages to have her content carried to the ends of the earth, I’d say she is the expert at that.
Not to be sceptical, but are there more traffic generation tips than the ones we already know?
Commenting, networking, seo, guest posting/guest blogging etc…?
Tim,
Good question. But I won’t be skeptical about this because Ana is endorsing it. Ana normally doesn’t recommend unless it is useful and outstanding.
Jane.
Tim,
I just downloaded the ebook, it ROCKS! Kristi knows her stuff. Period
All the best,
Mavis
@ Jane and @ Mavis - love how you keep the conversation going, ladies!
Tim - you are right; there’s nothing new under the sun.
Yet those who are able to put a new spin on old things are the ones who will succeed.
I loved the book too, Mavis!
Always a pleasure, Ana 🙂
Thanks for sharing and for the endorsement.
Have a great weekend!
Mavis
Thanks for your recommendation.
@JANE- I was trying to go to your website but instead, i’m been redirected to your comments here…
@MAVIS- Thanks for dropping me a line. See ya on your blog right away…
Enjoy your day
Tim, once taken to the comment page, click on Jane’s name again
I’ll check it right away and land on ya blog!
Hi Tim,
I do address those strategies, plus a few extras. 🙂
I also add a lot of additional details, so as opposed to just saying “post it on your social networks,” I cover how to build the right audience who will care about your posts, and then different ways to use the top networks to get the word out there.
In terms of commenting for single post promotion, there is only one way to go if you want great results without comment spamming, and that’s with blogs like this one that are CommentLuv enabled. I also include a workaround to use if you are trying to promote posts that aren’t on your site that haven’t registered for ComLuv.
Anyway, I hope that helps reduce your skepticism. 🙂
Enough! I’m convinced! I’ll place my order in the next few hours if only to learn your ‘old renewed strategy’. With this comments, I’m sure I’ll like it. Enjoy your day kristi…Jane thanks for pitching me, MAVIS- you’re appreciated…enjoy your day everyone. It’s 11pm here in Nigeria and I’m ready to close my eyes:)
Hi Ana I’ve been hearing a lot about Kristi’s book and have seen her success as a blogger. I’m sure she shared quite a few things that can help people out.
What stage of blogger would you say the book is for?
Hey Robert,
I also heard about it a couple of days ago and didn’t take action. I just bought it now and I’m just blown away!
This is going to help me a great deal with promoting my Traffic Generation blogging contest post 🙂
It’s NOT for the beginner’s level, if that’s what you’re asking. If Ana got a copy and is endorsing it then…
Have a great weekend, Robert!
Mavis
Ah you got me Mavis! I was trying to be sly about it but you got me.
Two ringing endorsements send me on my way. Thanks for giving me some weekend reading!
Hi Robert,
As far as the level of content, if you are an absolute beginner from the no Twitter or Facebook, then my guide doesn’t explain the setup of those things. But if you do have them, my guide picks up on how to build relevant followers and how to use those networks (and others) to promote your content. And of course, you have to have great content! 🙂
I’ve actually gotten to watch an in-house beginner (my husband) start out with his first blog, no followers, etc. and start working through some of the strategies in the eBook (starting with the social media and blog commenting), and he’s started getting some results in terms of traffic and comments. It is much of a slower climb to see massive results, but the strategies do work.
I hope this helps! 🙂
Anna you lazy I don’t think so. But thanks for sharing this great resource with us. If she is handing YOU your behind in a blogging contest that might be worth looking into.
Steve
She surely did, Steve, each and every time!
I hope to end the streak one of these days. 🙂
I have not read the book yet, but I know Kristi and it is really mind boggling how she manages to win almost every contest she participates in. Actually its no surprise as she knows what she is doing and I am impressed that she finally “wrote” the bible on how to “get attention” for your posts. I still remember a contest she participated at FamousBlogger and CoMLuv, where in her blog alone, she had a sticky “something” (will not reveal it to you, maybe on her book she does), a massive 600 plus retweets, for one single post. Needless to say she won the contest.
I second you on endorsing Kristi’s book Ana. I don’t have the ebook yet as I said, but since its Kristi, well… No need to think twice actually 🙂
Kristi rocks and I would buy her products just because they have her name on them. 🙂
Thanks for coming by, Francisco!
Thanks Francisco! I did reveal all of my tactics as to what promotional tactics I used to get the results I had in those contests. Winning them was the inspiration to writing the eBook - I figured if these tactics could have such great results for me, I’m sure they could do the same for others. 🙂
Well i don’t have much experience on post promotion but whenever i write new post, i shared it on social sites. Yes i have read Kristi E-book and i am really impressed with it.
I’m glad you enjoyed it Rakesh, and I hope you found some more ways to increase exposure to your posts! 🙂
If Kristi’s written it I’m sure it rocks, everything she does always goes well and I reckon it’s because she is so dedicated.
Haven’t been here for awhile and it seems you’ve moved your sidebar to the left. Is that so it’s more noticeable, seeing as how people normally read from left to right and so it will be the first thing they see?
Thanks Sire! I dedicated over six months to writing the content and making sure it was easily actionable.
As far as the layout here, I find that since many blogs use the sidebar on the right option, having it on the left kind of refreshens the senses. Kind of like exercising the brain and making it more aware of everything going on in a good way. 🙂
And yet I reckon I’ll leave mine on the right, I reckon maybe I want my content to come first
I just gone through the comments on this post. And what i found is that, i should read kristi’s book. And, i always work to make my blog popular.
