YourNetBiz: 7 Things I Didn’t Like About YourNetBiz

January 9, 2010

YourNetBiz: Frog or Prince?

I’ve noticed that a lot of YourNetBiz websites advertise all kinds of free reports on the “truth” about YourNetBiz, “no blah-blah” reviews, YourNetBiz scam, and such…

Don’t you wish that you always knew the TRUE pros and cons of any new venture you are about to embark on (sounds like it’s YourNetBiz in your case)?

Now let’s face it: we are all here to market our business and to sell it to as many people as we possibly can.

So it’s very hard not to be self-serving when writing about our businesses.

How is this information on YourNetBiz any different?

I am sure it will at times come off self-serving, but here is my hope for it.

I sat down and thought of all the concerns I had before I signed up with YourNetBiz: things that I found answers for back then and things I wish I had answers for before I signed up.

So here it is: my list of 7 Cons everyone should consider before signing up with YourNetBiz:

1. There Is No Residual Commission

I started my online business carrier in a traditional MLM company. One of the first objections that I had against YourNetBiz and other top-tier businesses was that there’s no residual commission.

Let’s take a look at the claim and see if it holds water.

First of all, YourNetBiz compensation plan does include residual commission. However, what needs to be mentioned here is something far more important than residual commission (boy, was I blown away when I realized this)…

When you make a platinum sale with YourNetBiz, your immediate pay is $2000.

How big of a traditional MLM downline would you have to build to collect that? Factoring the attrition rates, hundreds or maybe even thousands.

I know it sounds wonderful to hear someone say to you that you can leverage your time and effort through building your downline and retire while collecting monthly residual paychecks.

In truth, the only income you can rely on is based on your PERSONAL effort. So would you rather recruit one customer per month to make $2000 or hundreds?

2. Start-up Cost Is More Than a Traditional MLM Company

The second con to YourNetBiz is the start-up cost is “too high”.

Let’s assume for a second that you are comparing YourNetBiz with a traditional supplement-based MLM company. The average monthly cost including an auto-ship order for a traditional MLM is about $200. Do you math and figure out you will pay $2,500+ a year with shipping and taxes.

YourNetBiz has a one-time start-up cost with nothing more to buy. Ever.

I’ll flex my math skills a little further and calculate that by your third year your MLM investment will be $7,500, by year five it will be $12,500.

Wow…my heart is pounding faster just thinking of that number, let alone paying it to someone to keep me in business.

Yet, your total cost for YourNetBiz product will remain the same.

3. Start-up Cost Narrows Down Your Target Market

It’s absolutely true that a start-up cost of YourNetBiz will scare away many potential prospects.

You know what I say to that? I love it!

With YourNetBiz, you choose the kind of people you want to work with.

It does not take long to be burnt out by people who claim that they want to be financially free, but as soon as you mention a start-up cost, start making excuses. All I ever wanted to do was to tell them:

Wake up! You are thinking of starting a business!

How much would it cost to start a traditional brick and mortar business? How much would you have to pay to buy into a franchise?

Who said it should not cost a thing to start a legitimate business online?

I personally work with the highest caliber of people possible: my peers, professionals, dream-makers, people that know what they want and they go get it.

It makes a huge difference to work with people as driven as you are. They love this industry and they don’t need any convincing.

They know an investment is required to join YourNetBiz and have no problem with it, whereas time-wasting tier-kickers will be scared away by it.

Wouldn’t you like to work with people like that? True leaders who do not whine, complain, and waste your time, but build their business with eagerness and confidence, business-minded people who have a track record of success?

With YourNetBiz, you don’t have to work with thousands or tens of thousands to make big money.

A handful of true entrepreneurs will do.

4. I Am Not a Salesperson; Are Sales Essential To My Success?

So many times I heard recruiters say “You don’t even have to sell – our system will do all the telling and selling for you.”

Time to face to truth: when you join YourNetBiz or start any other online business, you ARE a salesperson. ALL business owners are.

Many aspiring business owners are set up for failure because they’re given false expectations about how easy this is going to be. They think this is going to be a cakewalk and when they find out it’s not, they aren’t too likely to stick around.

Whether you market YourNetBiz through pay-per-click campaigns or SEO or social media, you are marketing AND selling yourself.

YourNetBiz does make it easier on us through Professional Business Assistants network – a group of people who will talk to all your prospects, answer all their questions about the business, and walk them through the sign-up process. (By the way, YourNetBiz was the first online company to pioneer the use of this highly trained sales force.)

So you don’t necessarily have to get on the phone with your YourNetBiz and that’s a huge plus to all Your Net Biz owners who might be shy on the phone or have limited time.

It goes without saying though that if you do all of your own talking and selling, you will have a far greater success than doing it through a PBA.

One more side note: a successful salesperson is not the one who knows their product and company inside out, but rather the one who can figure out the best the needs of their audience and how their product/service can fill those needs.

5. YourNetBiz Sounds Like a Piece of Cake – Anyone can do this!

I am sure you’ve heard it all before…”This business is so automated that it will run itself!”…”Even a complete newbie can do it!”

Yeah…right…

Truth is

Not All Online Business Owners Are Created Equal.

Every person comes to this business with different talents – or lack of them. Some people have an enormous advantage in terms of skills, time, and money.

However, just because they were able to build an enormously profitable business in 6 months does not guarantee the next person will be able to.

#1 Skills:

Anyone can develop sales and marketing skills. YourNetBiz gives us a great advantage in that area with their extensive training library.

But the learning curve for newbies will be steep, make no mistake about it. Can you make it? Sure, if you dedicate the time necessary. Which brings me to my second point.

#2 Time:

I hear it over and over again how people are lured by the promises of “you can become rich by putting just a couple of hours a week into it.” Does that sound like a reasonable claim?

If you want to own YourNetBiz, you will have to put time into it, especially in the beginning. Can your YourNetBiz run as a well-oiled machine? Of course…with TIME.

Until then – there is no such thing as free lunch.

Some will take longer than others. Obviously someone who has 10 years of sales experience has a bit of an edge on someone with zero sales background and rather poor communication skills in general.

#3 Money:

No matter how you look at it, any business takes money to run. YourNetBiz is no different.

Besides the initial start-up cost, you do need an ongoing marketing budget. Some recruiters might not tell you that, but it’s absolutely necessary to run your YourNetBiz at full potential.

Is it possible to build YourNetBiz on very little money? Absolutely.

Some of the best marketing techniques I know, like SEO and social media are free. Personally, I am a big fan of making money before spending money. But you have to realize that the smaller your marketing budget is, the more time you will have to dedicate.

6. Our Automated Marketing Systems Will Do All the Work for You.

Don’t get me wrong, a marketing system is a must-have to build a successful YourNetBiz business, and a lot of our mentors use superb systems.

BUT…

Although Systems Are Critical To A Successful Business, They Can’t Do Everything for You.

For some reason, people find it easy to believe that a hands-off system generating a ridiculous income with no investment of time or effort and just a little bit of money actually exists.

No matter what anybody says, YourNetBiz or any other business will always be built on relationships and no system will do that for you.

Human interaction is a huge part of building a successful YourNetBiz business, and don’t let anybody else tell you otherwise.

7. Will I REALLY Be Mentored (Considering I Will Just Become Your Competition)?

Yes, this was one of my biggest concerns. I heard it over and over again – why would anybody truly want to teach you the tricks of the trade if in the end you will just become competitors?

Very valid point. Here is what my conclusion was.

1. When I was in MLM, I did not get much training and mentoring that mattered. My success still meant that my mentor would get less direct business.

2. Aside from personal mentorship, YourNetBiz training is beyond what my MLM company ever taught me. With Your Net Biz I learnt things like SEO, blogging, social media marketing, etc – I’ve never heard of them when I was in MLM!

3. NOBODY will train you to build your business like you will yourself. The truth is no matter how brilliant of a mentor I am, only you can guarantee your success through self-study. My marketing success does not mean that you will succeed in the same manner.

4. So why do you need a mentor at all, you ask?

Personal interaction and mentoring is the glue that holds an organization together.

When business owners hit those “rough spots” in their business, the coaching and advice that they receive from their mentor just might be what will keep them going.

I personally offer one-on-one training and support. We meet daily for our 10-minute accountability meeting, which is meant to help you stay on track with your business plan.

I found those meetings to be PRICELESS help to my team members. Starting a new business, whether you are a newbie or a pro, can be quite overwhelming and challenging.

It definitely pays to have someone you trust and can rely on to help you sort out through the sea of training available and pin-point the strategies that will actually help you make money online.

Plus remember, YouNetBiz comp plan is structured in a way that it is in my best interests to make sure you start making sales as soon as possible. Everybody wins.

So here you go: 7 things that concerned me when I was researching YourNetBiz.

I am a firm believer in having all the facts before you jump into it and hope this info helped you in your research.

Ana, since you asked, I am reading through your site as it draws me in. I am a better networker and saw a forum post by you there. I clicked through and can't get out of your site. It is very good. I am not necessarily a prospect, as I am working myself through Traffic Formula 2.0 and must stay focused and make that work first, then I can look at another income stream… The point here though is that your site is attractive… so your use of attraction marketing is definitely working. Priviet! (I have a few Russian friends).

Traffic Formula is a great course; let me know if you want to discuss something from it, Al. Staying focused is the key - learning how to market is imperative to having something to market.
