Do They Celebrate Thanksgiving in Russia?

thanksgiving blog post“Do They Celebrate Thanksgiving in Russia?”

What???

Sounds like a joke, doesn’t it?

This question was actually asked by one of my husband’s unnamed relatives. I was not sure whether to laugh or cry when she said it…

However, it gave me an idea for this blog post.

Most of us in the U.S. will be doing a lot of cooking, eating, and cleaning today, but for the rest of the world and those restless souls who just can’t stay from their computers even on Thanksgiving, here’s something to put a smile on your face.

***

What did the mama turkey say to her naughty son?
If your papa could see you now, he’d turn over in his gravy!

***

Asked to write a composition entitled, “What I’m thankful for on Thanksgiving,”
little Timothy wrote, “I am thankful that I’m not a turkey.”

***

What did the turkeys sing on Thanksgiving Day?
God save the kin.

***

What did the turkey say to the man who tried to shoot it?
Liberty, Equality and Bad aim for all.

***

If the Pilgrims were alive today, what would they be most famous for?
Their AGE.

***

Why can’t you take a turkey to church?
Because they use such FOWL language.

***

What’s the best dance to do on Thanksgiving?

The turkey trot

***

How can you make a turkey float?
You need 2 scoops of ice cream, some root beer, and a turkey.

***

What kind of music did the Pilgrims like?
Plymouth Rock

***

thanksgiving cat

thanksgiving cat and dog

thanksgiving oven

thanksgiving turkey with bush

thanksgiving turkey cows

***

Well, off I go to eat some turkey.

But before I do… I want to hear from you!

Leave me a comment, let me know how your day went, or just say hi!

Ти из россий!? Я етого не знал! Класно! Я жил в Украине в течение двух лет, и я жил в Казахстане до того. Я лучше говорю по украинский чем по русский, но я люблю русский язык.

Anyway (it takes me too long to type in Russian), thanks for the jokes, and I hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

Hi Ana

With all the talk of Thanksgiving I figured awhile back that it is a big deal in the US. Here in Australia we don’t celebrate it and have to wait a few weeks for Christmas where we will definitely be joining family and friends and enjoying that special day.

I loved your humorous post. Good job Ana. Hope your Thanksgiving has gone well. Stay safe.
